The Uzbekistan Football Federation (UFF) announced Thursday the 23-player squad who will represent Uzbekistan at the Asian Football Confederation U-23 Championship, the biennial competition scheduled for Jan. 9-27 in Jiangsu Province, China.
At the 16-team tournament, Uzbekistan is grouped with Qatar, China and Oman, with the top two teams to advance to the knockout stage.Uzbekistan will have their opening match against Qatar next Tuesday.
The UFF President Umid Ahmaddjonov in his address to the football players, before departure, said that the Uzbek people are expecting them to bring home the trophy.
