Uzbekistan head coach Timur Kopadze announced the squad for the away friendly match against Uruguay on June 7. Kopadze called up only the home-based players, and the core of the White Wolves is made up of the winners of the 2018 AFC U-23 Cup, who have been playing together for the last 5 years. The match will also be the first match for Uzbeksitan team against a World Cup winner.
Uruguay is placed in group A of the 2018 World Cup with Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the hosts Russia.
Previously, the sides played only at U-20 level in U-20 World Cup in 2011, in which Uzbekistan lost 0-3.
