Uzbekistan’s first friendly match in 2022 against Japan has been canceled, Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) said in a statement.
Reportedly, the Japan Football Association notified UFA that the match in Tokyo they had to cancel the match due to the COVID situation in the country.
“In many countries around the world, measures are being taken to combat the COVID’s omicron strain. In particular, lockdown measures are being harshened in Japan. Therefore, on the recommendation of the government, the Japanese Football Federation had to cancel a friendly match against the national team of Uzbekistan, scheduled for January 21.
UFA added that the staff are currently working on searching an adversary for January.
