Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov yesterday at the United Nations Headquarters in New York met with UN Secretary General António Guterres, the ministry said.
The counterparts discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation in the context of the agreements reached during the visit of the UN Secretary General to Uzbekistan and his meeting on with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and exchanged views on the agenda of the upcoming events of the UN Security Council on the thematic briefing at the UN Security Council on "Non-proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction: Confidence-building Measures" and the open ministerial level debate on the threats to international peace and security focusing on the topic: "Building Regional Partnership in Afghanistan and Central Asia as a Model to Link Security and Development".
