Chairperson of the committee for international relations, defense and security of the Kazakh Senate Dariga Nazarbayeva offered Uzbekistan to create the Asian analogue of the Schengen visa – Silk Visa – to attract tourists from abroad.
Dariga Nazarbayeva proposed theis proposal during the meeting with Uzbek MPs in Saryagash town in Southern Kazakhstan.
The Uzbek and Kazakh MPs exchanged proposals to improve customs regulations, expansion of bilateral trade and tourism cooperation.
"It is important not only to promote tourism both in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan but also to through introducing multi-visas,” Dariga Nazarbayeva said.
It is also necessary to harmonize customs procedures, she said. “We need to create a transparent, open and friendly borders, then relations in all spheres will improve,” she suggested.
