On December 7, 2016 the Foreign Ministers - from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan met with the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry at the Fairmont Vier Jahreszeiten Hotel in Hamburg, Germany. The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan was unable to attend.
The Foreign Ministers of Central Asia and the US Secretary of State John Kerry exchanged views on prospects of cooperation in the political, economic and other areas and expressed mutual interest in further advancing of cooperation in this format.
According to the US Department of State, John Kerry confirmed the US commitment to maintain the C5+1 format for interaction with the countries of Central Asia on regional and global challenges.
The parties discussed the progress on five joint projects, for which the US has provided 15 million dollars.
