The meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government was held in Astana during which the Commonwealth countries signed a number of important agreements - including Agreement on Preparedness in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency, on the use of space for peaceful purposes, and others.
Countries clearly met the schedule and signed 15 important accords. It is noted that it happened because the chair of the CIS this year, Tajikistan has thoroughly prepared all the documents.
At the round table, the countries identified differences on three documents, the rest were signed without further discussion.
The first is the Agreement on Assistance in Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency - in this case, they will jointly eliminate the consequences.
Also in the CIS agreed to use and explore space only for peaceful purposes.
It was decided to ehnace financing medical and social assistance to improve the quality of life of veterans and their families in 2019.
The agreements, protocols and concepts also touched upon cooperation in the cellular communication system, handling of electronic waste, exchange of tax data in electronic form, joint production of power equipment, division of intellectual property rights.
The Reclamation of the Territories of States Affected by Uranium Mining Industries Program has also been amended.
It became known that Uzbekistan submitted an application for chairmanship in the CIS for 2020, in 2019 Turkmenistan will be chairing the Commonwealth.
