On February 14, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoev held a telephone conversation with the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, UzA reported.
The Head of our State congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the landslide victory in the elections of the President of Turkmenistan and wished him great success in the highest state tenure.
It was emphasized that "the election results were yet another clear indication of high confidence and full support of the Turkmen people to the deeply thought-out political and economic reforms, aimed at raising the people's well-being, dynamic development and prosperity of the country."
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on key aspects of regional and international politics.
The Presidents expressed satisfaction with the significant intensification of bilateral ties at various levels and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation. The sides positively assessed the outcomes of the reciprocal working visits of high government delegations of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, as well as with the cooperation at the regional level between the two countries.
The Heads of State reiterated their mutual interest in the dynamic development of constructive and open dialogue between the two brotherly countries and expressed willingness to tap the potential for building fruitful relations in trade, economy, transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian areas.
At the conclusion of the conversation Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov good health, happiness and new successes in his responsible tenure, and to the people of Turkmenistan - peace and prosperity.
