On April 30, the Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is currently in Ashgabat to take part in the Sixth Meeting of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Central Asia+Japan Dialogue, was received by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Minister Kamilov on behalf of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirzieyev conveyed warm greetings and sincere respect, as well as good wishes to the President of Turkmenistan and in his person to the entire Turkmen people.
During the talks, the sides discussed the ways to further advance bilateral ties in the spirit of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan on March 6-7, 2017.
As it was stressed, thanks to the political will of the leadership of the two countries, interstate relations have reached a qualitatively new level today, which allowed to step up the mutually beneficial cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication, cultural, humanitarian and other areas, deepen cooperation within international and regional organizations, including the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, where Turkmenistan currently holds the presidency.
