During his visit to the Surkhandarya province, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation of major projects being implemented with foreign investment, the presidential press service said.

New facilities are planned for commissioning in housing construction, mining and geology, light and food processing, energy, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, education, services, and tourism.

The projects, worth approximately $1.6 billion, are being implemented in cooperation with companies from China, Russia, Turkiye, Pakistan, Japan, Germany, India, and Mongolia.

Commissioning ceremony took place for existing projects and launch ceremony for future projects took place in Surkhandarya. These projects involve 44 projects worth a total of $7.1 billion. With a symbolic push of a button, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched construction and commissioned new projects in mining and geology, light industry, furniture manufacturing, food production, services, and tourism.

Specifically, 13 projects worth a total of $741 million were launched with the participation of local and foreign investors from China, Turkiye, India, Pakistan, Russia, and Tajikistan.

Furthermore, construction work has begun on 31 projects worth a total of $6.3 billion in cooperation with Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, and Afghanistan.

The implementation of these projects will create 18,000 new jobs, manufacture industrial goods worth 82 trillion soums, and export goods worth $1.4 billion.
