Six Uzbek nationals died in Istanbul (Turkey) after drinking counterfeit alcoholic beverages. On January 14, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul reported the death of five people. Aged between 35-40, they had minor children. It became known today of the death of another woman had died.
the alcoholic beverages were reportedly purchased in Istanbul’s Aksaray district. The Consulate urged fellow countrymen to refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages and be cautious.
According to the Consulate, a total of 38 people (including 26 foreigners) were poisoned, of whom 11 died. The police have launched a large-scale investigation.
Two nationals of Turkmenistan have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the production of counterfeit alcoholic beverages.
