An interactive session titled “Bangladesh-Uzbekistan: Connecting through Youth ” was held on Monday, 29 July 2025 at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tashkent. More than fifty students from several Universities including Webster University and Uzbekistan University of World Economy and Diplomacy participated in the event.
Highlighting the strengths and prospects of the Bangladesh-Uzbekistan relations, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam emphasized the need for appropriately tapping the energy, talent, creativity and potentials of the youth of the two countries for making the bilateral relations more dynamic and fruitful. He gave a comprehensive presentation on the courage, enthusiasm , leadership and aspirations of the youth of Bangladesh, with particular focus on their active participations and contributions to the nation building. He encouraged the attending students to learn more about Bangladesh’s history, society, economy and culture , which, he hoped, would expand their horizon of learning as well as help them gain new knowledge and experience. Rustam Kayumov, Head of the International Department of Webster University, and Mozaffar Oripkhodjaev, Director of the American University of Technology, also spoke at the event, underlining the need for conducting a “student exchange” program between educational institutions of the two countries to facilitate the understandings and connectivity between the young generations of Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.
At the end of the discussion session, a quiz competition was organized on questionnaire about the history, language, literature, culture and tourism of Bangladesh, where students participated spontaneously. The students expressed their gratitude and satisfaction for attaining an overall idea about Bangladesh through this programme, more significantly the important role being played by Bangladeshi youth in building the society and the nation.
