Three people have lost their lives following a horrific traffic accident in Tashkent, according to a report by the "Millar" program on Milliy TV.
The collision occurred at around 3:10 a.m. on June 16 at an intersection along the Tashkent Ring Road in the Uchtepa district.
According to the Traffic Safety Department of the Tashkent City Police Department, a ПЬ Lacetti, driven by a 24-year-old, was making a sharp left turn when it collided with a speeding BYD electric vehicle. The BYD was being driven by a 16-year-old teenager who did not possess a driver's license.
The driver of the Lacetti and his two passengers, aged 28 and 22, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The medical condition of the underage BYD driver has not been disclosed.
Footage from the crash site showed heavy debris scattered across the roadway. Eyewitnesses reported that the force of the impact also severely damaged a nearby bus stop structure.
The Investigative Department of the Tashkent Police has launched a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code (Violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules resulting in human casualties).
