The Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov hosted the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain (stationed in Moscow), Fernando Valderrama Pareja Tuesday.
Abdulaziz Kamilov congratulated the Ambassador on his posting and wished him success in advancing the bilateral ties and discussed the ways to further strengthen the bilateral ties in political, inter-parliamentary, economic, cultural-humanitarian and other areas.
The parties also discussed practical aspects of future bilateral activities at various levels, including the first session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Investment Cooperation, as well as holding a business forum with major companies of the two countries.
Two Spanish language and culture centers were opened in 2019 at the Samarkand State University of Foreign Languages and the University of World Languages of Uzbekistan with the University of Castilla La Mancha and an agreement was reached on reviewing new promising areas of cooperation between the higher educational institutions of the two countries.
