As part of economic cooperation, the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank, Thomas Jordan has arrived in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting at the Uzbekistan’s Central Bank (CBU), the Swiss delegation got acquainted with the macroeconomic situation and the ongoing reforms in the banking and financial system, in particular, with the measures being undertaken to improve the investment climate and ensure the banking system’s stability.
During the meeting, Mr. Jordan expressed support to CBU’s currency liberalization policy choices. Afterwards, Mr. Jordan made a presentation for CBU employees and heads of banks entitled Swiss National Bank's Monetary Policy Decision and Assessment of the Swiss Economic Situation hosted by the Uzbekistan Banks Association.
A meeting was also organized with the leadership of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and members of the government.
The program of the visit includes a sightseeing trip to Bukhara.
