The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, will visit Uzbekistan on 16-18 November to meet with senior government officials, participate in the Foreign Investors’ Council and the Samarkand EU-Central Asia Connectivity Conference: Global Gateway.

In a two-day programme, President Renaud-Basso will have meetings with Uzbekistan’s senior leadership, including President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Head of the Presidential Administration and EBRD Governor Sardor Umurzakov as well as civil-society organisations.

The EBRD President will co-chair the first plenary session of Foreign Investors’ Council which will serve as an important platform for dialogue between foreign investors and the authorities of Uzbekistan.

At the Samarkand EU-Central Asia Connectivity Conference President Renaud-Basso will talk about the need to identify the most sustainable transport connections between the Central Asian states and Europe as the existing trade corridors are being disrupted by geopolitical events.
