Deputy Chairman of the Uzbek Senate Sadyk Safaev commented on frequent personnel changes in the government. In recent months we have seen a number of instances of departments being merged, abolished, split up, or newly created to better reflect the priorities of the government.

He noted that the reshuffle will have a positive impact on the way the departments operate. Safaev stressed that "new people with new thinking" are coming to the government, those who "have deeply absorbed" the President's ideas on the country’s development for the next few years.

“The strategy presumes a completely new philosophy, and this is no exaggeration, I think that the new team in the economic bloc and in other fileds will certainly achieve the set goals and bring Uzbekistan to a qualitatively new level," he said.

As an example, one can mention Adham Ikramov, who occupied three positions in six months. From December 2016 to February 2017, Ikramov worked as Minister of Health, holding concurrently the post of Deputy Prime Minister.

Until recently, he was the first deputy adviser to the President on organizational and personnel issues and afterwards was assigned as rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President. And finally yesterday he became the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

At the CCI’s congress, PM Abdulla Aripov presented the candidature of Ikramov was and four deputy chairmen were elected, as well as a presidium of the Chamber including 25 people.
