The cities of Tashkent and Samarkand will host the inaugural International Islamic Forum, themed Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance, and Enlightenment from July 7 to 11. The event is expected to bring together scholars, religious figures, heads of international organizations, and representatives from cultural and scientific institutions worldwide.
The forum is co-organized by the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
Designed as a global platform to foster dialogue and strengthen cooperation across the Islamic world, the gathering will feature leading academics, spiritual leaders, international organization heads, as well as representatives from universities, museums, libraries, and humanitarian institutions.
Discussions will center on the historical contributions of Islamic civilization to the development of global science, education, culture, philosophy, art, and spiritual heritage. Additionally, participants will address contemporary issues related to cross-civilizational dialogue and mutual understanding.
The program includes plenary sessions, international scientific conferences, and interactive meetings with prominent global scholars and religious authorities. Attendees will also visit key cultural landmarks, including the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand.
The event will further feature specialized exhibitions dedicated to Islamic art, calligraphy, and manuscript heritage, along with media briefings for members of the press.
Organizers emphasize that this forum aligns with Uzbekistan's ongoing initiatives to preserve and promote its rich Islamic cultural and scientific legacy. This follows the March 2026 launch of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, which stands as one of the largest humanitarian and educational projects in the Islamic world.
