A fatal accident has occurred at a construction site in Tashkent’s Yashnabad district, where a 25-year-old man died after being crushed by a concrete slab, the Millar news program reported.
According to the report, the tragedy took place at a construction site located in the Olmos neighborhood of Yashnabad district. The young man was originally from the Surkhandarya province.
Witnesses stated that the accident happened during working hours. They rushed to help after hearing a massive crash. "We heard a loud thud and ran down to give first aid. Since we couldn't lift it ourselves, we called the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The ambulance and rescue teams arrived quickly and used a crane to lift the slab," one witness recalled.
Sanjar Qodirov, chief of the Yashnabad District Emergency Medical Services Department, provided official details on the situation. He stated that an emergency call was received on July 3 regarding an incident at the Olmos neighborhood construction site.
"Our team arrived at the scene immediately. Upon arrival, it was determined that the man had been pinned down by a slab and had died instantly on-site due to severe traumatic injuries," the official statement read.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway, and the perimeter of the construction site has been cordoned off.
