Scorching temperatures are expected to intensify across Uzbekistan this Friday and over the weekend, according to Uzhydromet. During peak daytime hours, the mercury will soar to +42…+45°C (108°F–113°F), while the southern provinces and desert zones could face extreme highs of +46…+48°C (115°F–118°F).
Winds will average 9–14 m/s, picking up to 15–18 m/s in some areas. The northern, southern, and desert territories could experience gusts of up to 20–22 m/s, bringing localized dust storms.
On Monday, July 20, the brutally hot weather will persist across most parts of the country. Relief will begin only in the northwestern provinces of Uzbekistan, where temperatures will start to trend downward.
By Tuesday, July 21, the heatwave will begin to recede nationwide, with temperatures projected to drop by a significant 6 to 9 degrees Celsius.
Tashkent will see mostly clear skies. Daytime highs in the capital will range between +41…+43°C (106°F–109°F) on Friday, climbing to a blistering +43…+45°C (109°F–113°F) over Saturday and Sunday. Nighttime temperatures will hover comfortably between +25…+28°C (77°F–82°F).
