President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 27 departed for Khorezm province to get acquainted with the development of the province and for "a dialogue with the people", UzA reported.

The Head of State first visited the open-air museum-reserve - Ichan-Qal’a complex in Khiva, where he visited the Pahlawan Mahmud’s mausoleum, Matniyaz Devanbegi madrassa. He got acquainted with the plan of improvement of the old Khiva and restoration project of the reception house of Isfandiarkhan and Nurullabay palace.

Shavkat Mirziyayev noted the need to fully utilize Khorezm’s capacity as tourist attraction, promote the city’s attractiveness and develop the hotel and transport infrastructure.

The President stressed the need for a Urgench to Khiva rail road and the construction of a modern rail station in Khiva. In the future, Tashkent to Khiva route for high-speed Afrosiyob train will also be launched.

Then Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the project of large fishery complex at Boltaboy Oqsoqol farm in Khiva district. The fish are to be bred using Vietnamese intensive aquaculture practices. The company plans to yield over 300 tons of products a year.

The President also familiarized with the project of a poultry center at Khiva Naslli Parranda company. The company using the Italian and Chinese equipment will produce 51 million eggs and over 1 million baby chicks per year.

The President also visited the houses of Khursand Madrimov and Ollabergan Rakhimov in Chodra village of Khiva district and asked about their living conditions and incomes. They spoke about the need for effective use of gardens and breeding of high-yield crops such as lemon, nuts, pomegranates, figs.

In Yangiariq District Shavkat Mirziyoev familiarized with the project of textile production line at the former Yangiariq textiles. It is planned to produce about 20 million sq. m. of products per year.

Here was presented the project of a plant for the production of plastic products - water tanks, boxes, and other products, to be established by UzbekNefteGaz, which will process 3,500 tons of polyethylene and polypropylene granules. The President gave instructions to create such enterprises in other districts to create jobs.

In Bagat district Shavkat Mirziyoev familiarized with the project of a vineyard on 200 hectares of Khorazm Uzum Tayyorlov Savdo within UzVinoSanoatHolding group. Annually 3,000 tons of grapes are to be cultivated in the vineyard.

In Xazorasp District President visited the project of reconstruction of the Toshsoq main canal which provides farmlands in Khorezm province with water. Due to low water level in the canal the fields had to be irrigated with the help of pumps. The $ 145 million project more than 305 km of Toshsoq Shavat, Palvan-Gazavat and Gazavat channels will be reconstructed.

According to the Presidential decree a free economic zone will be created in Khazarasp. The land has been allocated, works have begun on the development of engineering and communication infrastructure. The zone will host over 50 production lines in the field of light industry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, leather and footwear industry, production of building materials.
