By the decree of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, "On measures to fundamentally increase the efficiency of the internal affairs bodies, to strengthen their responsibility for ensuring public order, reliable protection of civil rights, freedoms and interests ", a number of subdivisions of the Interior Ministry are to be reshuffled.

The following bodies are to be created within the Interior Ministry:

• Main Division of Criminal Investigation and the Main Division for Combating Terrorism and Extremism - instead of the Main Division of Criminal Investigation and the Fight against Terrorism;
• Head Forensic Center - instead of the Forensic Center and the Expert-Explosive Technical Center;
• Main Division of Financial and Material Support - instead of the Financial and Economic Division, the Office of Material and Technical Supply, the Economic Division and the Division of Capital Construction;
• Division for International Cooperation - instead of the Division for International Cooperation under the Organizational-Inspection Division and the Division for the Protection of Human Rights and Interaction with International Organizations in this area under ​​the Office for the Protection of Human Rights and Legal Support.

The following units will be transformed:

• Main investigation Division - into the Investigation Division under the Interior Ministry;
• Service for work with staff - into the Main HR Division;
• Organizational and inspection Division - into the Main Organizational-Inspection and Information-Analytical Division;
• Office of Entry-Exit and Citizenship - into the Main Division for Migration and Citizenship;
• Special inspection board for personnel - into the Internal Security Division;
• The Secretariat - into the Division for Work with the Appeals of Individuals, Legal Entities and Paper Management;
• Division of Communications - into the Division of Information Technologies, Communication and Information Protection;
• Division of Internal Affairs in Transport - into the Division of Public Security in Transport, line divisions (departments, offices) of the interior affairs - into the Divisions of public security in transport.

The Tashkent Higher Military Technical School is transformed into the Military Technical Institute, and the Higher Technical School of Fire Safety - into the Institute of Fire Safety. Centers for advanced training and retraining of non-commissioned officers will become the centers of initial training and professional development of employees of the internal affairs bodies.

In addition, the post of deputy head of the district (city) Division (Division) of the Interior on youth issues is being introduced- the head of the crime prevention division (unit) responsible for the effective organization and coordination of the inspectors' work on prevention, primarily on the prevention of juvenile and youth offenses.
