The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan expressed hope for a swift de-escalation of the tensions that have arisen in connection with the development of the situation around Taiwan. This was stated in the information message distributed by the Dunyo news agency.
“Uzbekistan consistently supports the One China policy, China’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, in accordance with the universally recognized norms and principles of international law,” the report says.
On August 2-3, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi visited the island of Taiwan, which China considers its territory, as part of a trip to the Indo-Pacific region.
