Commonwealth-2022 joint military exercises of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan kicked off in Termez, the press service of the Uzbek Defense Ministry of reported.
Major General Zainobiddin Iminov, Commander of the Southwestern Special Military District of Uzbekistan, and Major General Egamzod Sharof Khudoiberdi, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan, spoke at the opening ceremony of the drill on August 4.
After the ceremony, the servicemen of Uzbekistan held demonstration exercises at the Termez training ground, in which the military of Tajikistan also took part.
During the exercises, techniques and methods of close combat, evacuation of the wounded and repelling the attack of a mock enemy will be worked out. The military of the two countries will also take part in sports competitions.
