The head of regional organization: The Central Asian Society of Uzbeks of Perm Territory, Jahongir Jalolov called on the natives of Uzbekistan living in this region of Russia to join the “Special Military Operation” in Ukraine. This was reported by the Vetta TV company, which published the footage of Jalolov's speech.
“Our children attend kindergartens, study at schools, colleges and universities in Russia. And ourselves, we live and work in Russia. We not only have to, we are obliged to justify the bread that we eat. I propose to form a volunteer battalion and call it by the great name "Amir Timur". And support Russia’s special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine,” he said.
The Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan, in response to this statement, called on the fellow countrymen “not to follow such calls, not to go conflict zones and not to participate in hostilities.”
The agency recalled that according to Article 154-1 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, the entry of a citizen of Uzbekistan into military service, into the service of security agencies, police, military justice or other similar bodies of foreign states, is punishable by a fine of up to 300 basic settlement units or correctional labor up to 3 years, and the recruitment of a citizen of Uzbekistan for the same purposes - restriction of freedom from 3 to 5 years or imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
