Today, the Acting Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov hosted the delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives, consisting of the Congressmen Trent Kelly and Darin Lahoud.

The parties focused on expanding inter-parliamentary relations, deepening dialogue in political, trade-investment, academic and cultural-humanitarian spheres both at the level of the two countries and with the states of Mississippi and Illinois, which are represented by congressmen.

The sides discussed the Uzbekistan Caucus in the House of Representatives and undescored that the caucus is was expanding with full support for the systematic development of strategic partnership ties with Uzbekistan.

The congressmen expressed their readiness to take measures to support the socio-economic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan.

The parties exchanged opinions on of Afghanistan and expressed their readiness to cooperate in order to prevent the complicated humanitarian situation in this country.

Current issues of the bilateral agenda, relations of the countries within the framework of international organizations were discussed at the meeting.
