On May 22, 2017, the Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received the MEPs Iuliu Winkler and Ismail Ertug, who represent Romania and Germany respectively, who are visiting Uzbekistan, a statement of Foreign Ministry said.

During the meeting, the sides noted the positive dynamics in relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union, including at the parliamentary level.

The MEPs shared their impressions of the "round table" with members of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan, held today in Tashkent.

Minister Kamilov underscored that, in the framework of Uzbekistan’s five-area Development Strategy for 2017-2021, Uzbekistan is interested in studying the European experience in the field of ensuring the rule of law, law enforcement practice, enhancing the role and significance of parties in the parliament, enhancing parliamentary control over the activities of the executive and  execution of laws.

The sides also exchanged views on some international and regional issues.
