A delegation of the Russian Interior Ministry headed by Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit on Monday, the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry said.

The visit began in Samarkand, where the Russian delegation visited the burial place of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

According to the Uzbek Interior Ministry, in Samarkand Vladimir Kolokoltsev was met by his Uzbek counterpart Abdusalom Azizov.

On Tuesday, the delegation of the Russian Interior Ministry will be received by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and hold talks at a number of Uzbek departments in Tashkent.

The two Miisters ares expected to sign a Memorandum o Cooperation between the Interior Ministries, which will become "an effective lever for constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation between the law enforcement agencies for the near future."
