Persons who report violations of environmental laws will receive financial reward, according to the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Decree has established that from January 1, 2021, photographs and video footages of violations of environmental protection and nature management regulation, sent by the whistleblowers to the special system of the State Ecological Committee on the Internet, shall be reviewed in the manner prescribed by the Code of Administrative Liability.
Whistleblowers shall be entitled for a cash reward of fifteen percent of the total monetary recovery from the offender.
The identification of offenders shall be carried out by the police on the basis of a request from the territorial bodies of the State Committee for Ecology.
Also, information about the whistleblowers shall be confidential.
The State Committee for Ecology, together with the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, until January 1, 2021, was instructed to create an online system to report violations.
