Mirjalol Qosimov has been appointed as the head coach of Uzbekistan U21, or the Olympic team. The former coach Ravshan Khaidarov was dismissed, Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) said in a statement.
The first vice-president of the association Umid Ahmadjonov, having reviewed several candidates, has chosen the Bunyodkor head coach Mirjalol Kasymov.
Qosimov, 48, has been tasked to form a new U-21 team and prepare it for the Tokyo-2020 qualifiers, the statement said.
Mirjalol Qosimov in 2006-2007 was assistant to the head coach of the Uzbekistan national and Olympic team Rauf Inileev, while in 2008-2010 and 2012-2015 was at the helm of the White Wolves.
