Four-year-old girl has died in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent province after being beaten by her mother, the press service of the Children's Ombudsperson reported.
According to the office of the Children's Ombudsperson, on December 23, a girl named Y. M. was admitted to the district medical facility with various injuries. The provisional investigation found that the child was brutally beaten by her mother E. Y., 47, causing serious injuries.
On December 27, the Chirchik city police department opened a criminal case against the woman under Domestic violence/Intentional infliction of bodily harm that is dangerous to life or that resulted in the loss of vision, speech, hearing or any organ or the complete loss of an organ's functions, in relation to a minor charge.
According to the medical report, the child had a closed craniocerebral injury, severe brain contusions and other serious head injuries. Despite the medical care provided, the girl died on January 7.
her death has directly impacted the legal assessment of the crime - the charge will be reclassified to an article providing for a more severe punishment by the investigation bodies,” the Children's Ombudsperson's office emphasized.
Since October 2024, children have been added to persons protected by criminal and administrative domestic violence provisions.
