A team of scientists from Uzbekistan and Russia has created an AI capable of identifying street violence in CCTV footage, TASS reported referring the South Ural State University (SUSU).
Reportedly, the new AI tool is highly efficient, with street violence spotting egree of over 98%. This was made possible by the use of multi-valued logic, which allows processing data taking into account three values - "yes", "no" and "not determined".
According to one of the project authors, SUSU associate professor Veronika Denisovich, the main challenge was that street cameras generate huge data streams that overloaded previously existing neural networks. However, the introduction of multi-tasking logic made it possible to solve this problem.
The developers emphasized that the tool is aimed at fostering public safety and can become an important tool for combating urban crimes.
