On October 23-24, a working trip was organized with the support of the Uzbek Embassy to Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Karachi of Pakistan for a business delegation, led by the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

Business forum took place in Rawalpindi during the visit. At the forum, the parties agreed to boost cooperation in the fields of pharmaceuticals, textiles, agriculture, chemicals and construction materials.

At the end of the economic event, trade agreements were signed between entrepreneurs and a memorandum of cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rawalpindi was signed.

As part of the trip, the Uzbekistan-Pakistan business forum took place with the support of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where important agreements were reached on the implementation of joint projects and expansion of mutual trade in the fields of tourism, energy, chemistry, jewelry, and information technology.

Chairman of the chamber Nasir Qureshi thanked the leadership of Uzbekistan for easing the visa regime for Pakistanis. He noted that the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry would contribute to increasing the flow of tourists between the countries, promoting the possibilities of pilgrimage tourism of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and other ancient cities.

The Uzbek officials also held talks with the CEOs of Pakistani companies Wah Nobel, Nimir Group and Asia Aria. They discussed implementation of joint investment projects, export of chemical products produced in Uzbekistan to Pakistan and other issues.

At a recent meeting with Ali Takhir, the first deputy minister of food security of Pakistan, they discussed cooperation in the field of agriculture, including scientific research and exchange of experience in the field of cotton seed selection, the prospects of supplying agricultural machinery and mineral fertilizers produced in Uzbekistan to Pakistani farmers.

Pakistani Ministry of Food Safety and Uzkimyosanoat to expand the volume of export of mineral fertilizers produced in Uzbekistan to Pakistan and to regularly exchange information on the current demand for these products.

Uzbek delegation also attended the Texpo exhibition in Karachi. A demonstration of textile and leather-footwear products of Uzbekistan was held at the exhibition area.

As a result of the B2B meetings organized by the initiative of the diplomatic mission and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, with trade agreements worth 15 million dollars inked with Pakistani companies Diners, Fateh, Nishat, Diamond group on the export of textile, leather, agricultural and food products.
