As part of the business trip to Lahore, Pakistan, the Tashkent province delegation discussed investment cooperation with major Pakistani industrial companies.
In particular, during the meeting with the leadership of the Pakistan industrial groups - Omni Group of Companies, the parties discussed setting up of a sugar production unit in Tashkent province, building one or taking over one of the existing enterprises. The company's management noted the high demand for sugar in Uzbekistan and expressed its readiness to invest in such a project. The negotiations also centered around establishing a joint venture for assembly of tractors.
Also, a meeting was held with the Service Industries Limited company, during which footwear and tires production projects were considered. The Pakistani company vowed to implement joint projects in Uzbekistan in these areas.
As a result of the meetings, the parties reached an agreement to conduct an in-depth study of the opportunities of the Uzbek market, organize a visit of company delegations to the Tashkent province, and familiarize themselves with industrial zones.
