CIS Business Initiatives Week (BIW) will be held in Tashkent on September 9–13, the Tashkent mayor’s office said. The preparation plan for the event was approved by a government order.
BIW will feature tourism and economic forums, as well as three exhibitions on export potential, food and agricultural products, folk and applied art of the Commonwealth countries. In addition, B2B and B2G meetings are also planned.
Uzbekistan is chairing the CIS in 2020. In late May, a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (CPS) of the CIS countries was held. The next meeting is scheduled for November 6 in Uzbekistan.
In addition, under the chairmanship of Tashkent, meetings of the Economic Council, the Council of Foreign Ministers, and the Coordinating Council on the sanitary protection of territories of the Commonwealth countries have already taken place.
Earlier, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported that during the presidency of Uzbekistan in the CIS, it is planned to prepare and adopt more than ten conceptual documents aimed at advancing multilateral cooperation. About 70 events of various levels and formats were scheduled for the year.
