A fruit and vegetable caravan will depart from Uzbekistan for Kazakhstan. With such outcomes culminated the working trip of the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov, Forbes Kazakhstan said.
“In 7 days we cruised almost 2 thousand kilometers, signed contracts for a trial delivery of various products worth 3 million dollars, agreed on the implementation of several cooperation projects and outlined plans for cooperation in a number of areas: agro-industrial complex, light industry, IT, mechanical engineering, power engineering ...”, - the minister wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, an agreement was reached on industrial cooperation with the Tashkent city mayor, in particular, the opening of the transformer production of the Kazakh company Alageum Electric is being worked out.
Bakhyt Sultanov noted that during the trip, the Kazakh delegation visited "fields and gardens, bazaars and agrological centers, asked about transport corridors and obstacles on the way to sales markets, there were a lot of meetings with farmers, traders, heads of provinces."
“A very important point that we discussed: in the logistics centers that will be set up along the commodity distribution corridor, it is necessary to provide not only calibration and sorting, but also to resolve the issue of organizing the correct packaging. Large retail chains have very strict requirements for packaging, without which even a very good product will never hit the shelves,” he said.
The Kazakh Minister said that two contracts were signed in the last two days of the visit. The first one - worth 500 thousand dollars for the purchase of Uzbek cherries, within the framework of which "a Kazakh company that has entered into a contract plans to collect an enlarged batch of high quality Uzbek and Kazakh cherries with subsequent delivery to the trading networks of Dubai."
The second contract is for the supply of fruit and vegetable products from Gafurov district of Tajikistan’s Sughd province to Kazakh trade networks worth 500 thousand dollars.
