In 2025, the average monthly gross salary in Uzbekistan was 6.38 million soums (or approximately $507), marking an 18.9% increase to 2024, the National Statistics Committee said in a report.
It grew at a faster rate than the previous year (17.5%). Adjusted for year-on-year inflation (7.3%), real wage growth stood at 11.6%.
Provinces
The highest average salary was in Tashkent city – 10.75 million soums, an 18.3% increase compared to last year, followed by Navoi province – 7.87 million soums (+16%).
In Tashkent province, the average salary was 5.97 million soums (+ 16.9%), and in Andijan province, it was 5.24 million soums (+ 13.4%). Moreover, Andijan province recorded one of the lowest growth rates compared to other provinces.
In Bukhara province, the average monthly salary reached 5.09 million soums (+17.2%), in Syrdarya province – 5.12 million soums (+20.8%), in Khorezm province – 5.05 million soums (+18.4%), and in Karakalpakstan – 5.0 million soums (+15.7%).
In Samarkand province - 4.74 million soums (up 17.8%), in Jizzakh province – 4.79 million soums (up 20.5%), in Fergana province – 4.73 million soums (up 19.1%), in Namangan province – 4.75 million soums (up 22.8%), in Surkhandarya province – 4.48 million soums (up 17.4%), and in Kashkadarya province – 4.48 million soums (up 18.2%).
The wage gap between the capital and the provinces remained virtually unchanged last year. Specifically, the difference between the highest (Tashkent) and lowest (Kashkadarya) salaries increased from 2.39 to 2.4 times. At the end of 2023, this figure was 2.25 times higher, in 2022 – 2.18 times, in 2021 – 2.06 times, and in 2020 – 1.97 times.
By sector
The highest average salary is in the financial sector (banking, insurance, leasing, and credit intermediary activities) – 17.6 million soums (+15.2%), as well as in IT and communications – 15.3 million soums (+15.8%). The lowest is in healthcare (3.9 million soums, +14.5%).
The highest growth rate was in the arts, entertainment, and recreation sector – 5.4 million soums (+26.4%).
In education, the average salary topped 4.28 million soums, While, the gap between teachers' salaries and the national average has narrowed. Specifically, while in 2024, salaries in education were 33.1 percentage points below the national average, by the end of last year, this figure had decreased to 32.9 percentage points.
