As reported earlier, the speaker of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin landed in Tashkent. He held talks with speakers of the Uzbek Legislative Chamber and Senate, Nurdinjon Ismoilov and Tanzila Norboyeva.

As a result of his visit, Viacheslav Volodin made a statement on relations between Uzbekistan and the United States, which was published on the website of the legislative body.

The result of relations between the United States and its strategic partners in Europe has become an example for Uzbekistan in assessing the possible consequences of cooperation with Washington, Viacheslav Volodin noted.

“People in Uzbekistan are wise, literate, they understand what these promises can lead to,” he said. However, he did not mention what the ties with Russia could result in.

Viacheslav Volodin noted that the ties with the United States, which are more than strategic in nature, had brought economic problems to Europe. “For themselves, the Americans buy energy resources at one price, and then supply to Europe four times the original price. But at the same time, they were made to join the sanctions wars against Russia, our programs were curtailed, which made it possible to use cheap energy, and it was precisely the foundation for the development of industry in Germany, France, and other states,” said Viacheslav Volodin.

According to him, now the leaders of the EU countries “finally began to recognize that it was Russian energy resources that were the basis of the well-being of Europeans, but it was the United States that initiated these resources to stop flowing to Europe, and they began to replace them with their expensive resources.”

“We see the result. This is all understood by those who live in Asian countries, especially those who have always built relations with us on the principles of mutual respect, friendship and non-interference in internal affairs,” the Chairman of the State Duma believes.

He also said that during the visit to Uzbekistan, "a very different range of issues was discussed: including such topics as common history, our traditional values, cultural issues."

"We have a lot in common. For us, for example, it is unacceptable that they are trying to impose in the sphere of relations, trying to destroy the family, to impose new values. Therefore, when the Americans come, of course, in sheep's clothing, but the wolf grin is visible, because everyone understands who came,” said Viacheslav Volodin.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were drafting a treaty on alliance ties stipulating joint reaction against aggression from third countries.
