In September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, in an interview with journalists from Central Asia, said that his country was ready even in the current conditions to develop relations with Uzbekistan as much as possible.

“War is a war, but no one canceled the life, and we must move forward and look for what we can do together,” he said.

“We are in favor of [all agreements] remaining in force and the ties developing, and for us it is important to ink new agreements and implement them. We have very good contact with Uzbek business, there is a dialogue with the Uzbek government,” Dmytro Kuleba emphasized.

A year before the start of the war, Uzbekistan and Ukraine had a business council, its first meeting and a joint business forum were held in May 2021. The co-chairman of the business council from Uzbekistan is the founder of the Korzinka grocery chain, Zafar Khashimov.
