Several executives of state energy enterprises who allegedly committed "illegal acts which prompted problems in gas and electricity" were taken into custody. This was announced at a regular meeting of the Republican headquarters on Sunday by the chief of the Presidential Administration Sardor Umurzakov, UzA reported.

At the meeting, Sardor Umurzakov underscored that criminal cases had been initiated against some senior officials, who allegedly violated the law and showed irresponsibility. They are taken into custody.

In particular, according to Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev, among the detainees are the director of Khududgaz Toshkent (the Tashkent province branch of Khududgaztaminot) Muzaffar Aliyev, director of Yangiyul district gas supply enterprise Umid Tuychiev, the chief of Gulistan district electric grid enterprise Furkat Shodmonkulov and others.

“If senior officials in other provinces fail to draw the right conclusions from this and violate laws, the same criminal case will certainly be initiated against them,” Sardor Umurzakov said.

On December 9, at a meeting of the republican headquarters, the head of the presidential administration, Sardor Umurzakov, promised that those responsible for the energy crisis in Uzbekistan "won't get away with it." He highlighted that some of them "are sitting among us at this meeting."
