Today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the CEO of the Hungarian OTP Bank, Sándor Csányi, the presidential press service said.
At the meeting, the parties reportedly discussed the ways to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Hungarian companies and promoting joint cooperation projects in accordance with the agreements of regular high-level meetings.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated Sándor Csányi on the successful completion of the purchase deal of government’ stake in Ipoteka Bank and the entry of the leading European banking and financial institution into the Uzbek market. Focuse was placed on drawing direct investment from Hungary and other EU countries to the implementation of investment projects in various sectors of the Uzbek economy, including industry, agriculture, horticulture and poultry farming, food and textile production, pharmaceuticals and others.
In addition, the parties pointed to the importance of close cooperation in the field of higher education and training of professional personnel, as well as improving the quality of banking services provided to the population,.
While, the parties also reached an agreement to adopt a Road Map with priority measures to support and promote joint projects and cooperation programs. At the end of the meeting, they oversaw the signing of the agreement on purchase by OTP Bank of the government stake of Ipoteka-Bank.
