On December 28, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade hosted a meeting to discuss the progress of the creation of an Uzbek-Turkmen border trade zone in Shavat district of Khorezm region, the MIFT said.
The ceremony of launching the creation of the Khorezm-Dashoguz border trade zone took place in October during the visit of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by heads of stakeholder ministries and departments, industry associations, and local authorities.
The attendees discussed cooperation with the Turkmen authorities in the framework of coordinating the modes of operation of the trade zone, the application of benefits and preferences in tax administration, customs and border control and pointed to the need for consistent and high-quality joint study of issues arising during the implementation of the project.
