President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on Monday, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed sincere gratitude for the hospitality and warm welcome offered to the Uzbekistan delegation during the stay in Astana on June 8-9 to attend the meeting of the SCO Council of the Heads of State.
It was noted that the SCO summit in Astana featured a landmark event - India and Pakistan’s joining the SCO as full-fledged members. The two leaders underscored the importance of continuing active interaction within the SCO.
The President of Uzbekistan congratulated the Kazakh side on organizing at a high level of the Astana Expo-2017 International Exhibition and wished the event to be successful, and expressed confidence that this exhibition will help attract high technologies and investments to the region.
The sides also considered topical issues of bilateral cooperation, international and regional affairs.
