Intelligent public and road safety system, Sergek has been introduced in Namangan, Tengrinews reports. Sergek system reportedly has been introduced in the city of Namangan, the second most populous city in Uzbekistan after Tashkent, the administrative center of Namangan province.

Reportedly, Sergek system in Namangan aims at reducing accidents and improving driving culture. The system has been certified according to the legislation of Uzbekistan. 25 hardware and software systems record violations of traffic rules in 13 sections of the city and districts of the province. Both in the cities of Kazakhstan and in Namangan, the system captures speeding, passing a traffic light, violation of road marking lines.

Sergek system is operating in eight cities of Kazakhstan: Astana, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Almaty, Atyrau, Shymkent, Semey, Taraz and Turkestan.

“Sergek Group is developing an export strategy to promote products. The immediate target is the markets of Central and Southeast Asia, as well as the Middle East and Africa,” the company added.

According to Tengrinews, the installation of the system will improve driving discipline and a decrease in fatal accidents. In the first year of operation of the system, the number of deaths in road accidents in Astana decreased by 43 percent - from 60 deaths to 34 - and has remained at the same level for all subsequent years.

Death toll on roads decreased in Almaty from 2019 to 2022 - from 161 to 96, while in Shymkent from 2020 to 2022 - from 76 to 57. With the help of the system, it is also possible to address criminal offenses.
