A thousand buses for Tashkent, due to be delivered in the spring, are being purchased from China. This is stated in the president’s Feb. 16 Measures to reform the public transport system Decree.
Reportedly, following negotiations with major bus manufacturers in China, the King Long United Automotive Industry and Yutong Bus had been opted for due to its capacity, global market share, quality, convenience and safety of buses. The purchase will be made under direct contracts to be enterd into before March.
King Long will supply 200 of the 18-metre-long articulated city buses powered by compressed gas.
Yutong Bus will deliver 500 12-meter compressed gas buses and 300 12-meter electric buses (20 of these vehicles are already in operation in Tashkent), as well as 150 charging stations.
Another 1,000 gas-powered buses will be purchased this year for Nukus and provincial centers.
The sources of financing for the purchase of buses for the capital are loans from the National Bank - 15% and loans at the expense of international financial institutions and foreign banks allocated under a state guarantee - 85%.
For Nukus and provincial centers, the purchase of buses will be financed at the expense of carriers' own funds - 15% and loans at the expense of international financial institutions and foreign banks under a state guarantee - 85%.
Bank loans will be provided to Toshshahartranskhizmat and carriers in the provinces in Chinese yuan at 6.07% per annum rate for up to 10 years with a 1-year grace period.
