Bakhodir Sidiqov has been appointed Chairman of Uzbekneftegaz to replace Mehriddin Abdullayev, the Telegram channel of Yangi Uzbekiston newspaper under the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
Prior to his appointment, he had served as the chief of the project office for the “Development of the Yoshlik I Field Project of Almalyk mining and Metallurgical Plant, as well as the deputy chairman of Uzbekneftegaz in charge of geology.
The new role of Mehriddin Abdullayev, who had been in charge of the company since January 2020, is not yet known.
Bakhodir Sidiqov had been in charge of Uzbekneftegaz from February 2019 to January 2020.
In early February, he was part of the Uzbek delegation at a meeting of the energy ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan with the head of the Russian company Gazprom in St. Petersburg.
