Romanian film - The Windseeker will be screened in Tashkent at the French Alliance in Tashkent on Monday, March 27, 2023.
The event is being organized by the Embassy of Romania in Uzbekistan in partnership with the French Alliance.
This event is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Romania's joining to the International Organization of the Francophonie and will be part of the celebration of the Francophonie Week in Tashkent.
The film tells the story of a young man who takes refuge away from the city when his life seems to be coming to an end, only to find new reasons to live. Dan Bordeianu, Olimpia Melinte and Adrian Titieni are part of the cast. The script was written and the film was directed by Mihai Sofronea.
In 2022, The Windseeker won the FIPRESCI International Film Press Federation Prize at the 26th International Film Festival in the capital of Bulgaria (Sofia) for "the mastery of reflecting human existence and for the way the language of cinema is used to reveal the beauty of the nature and daily life.
According to the film's director Mihai Sofronea, the film was intended to draw to "the problems of the 21st century."
Sofia International Film Festival was founded in 1997. It is currently one of the main annual cultural events in Eastern Europe.
The screening of the film takes place at 18:00 in the French Alliance (at the address: Zulfiyahonim str., 112) as part of the Francophonie Week in Tashkent. Film language: Romanian, with French subtitles. Film duration: 1h.35. Free entrance.
On Saturday, March 25, 2023, the French Alliance of Tashkent hosted the opening of the exhibition "Bucharest - Little Paris" and a Reception on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Romania's accession to the International Organization of Francophone Countries. In his welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Ambassador of Romania Daniel Cristian Ciobanu underscored that Romania sees great potential for cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan in all areas. The exhibition "Bucharest - Little Paris" will be open to visitors until March 31, 2023.
