At the plenary session on Thursday, the senators reviewed the Ratification of the agreement between the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in the military field Bill (Tashkent, June 21, 2022)” and the ratification of the agreement between the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on military-technical cooperation Bill (Tashkent, June 21, 2022).
The senators noted that the friendly ties between the Uzbek and Azerbaijani peoples have deep historical roots, based on centuries-old intertwining of cultural and spiritual values, traditions and history.
“At present, they have become a solid foundation for the development of mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation between the two states, based on mutual trust and high respect. The senators highly appreciated the agreements submitted for ratification, noting that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the field of defense serves to further strengthen the defense capability and increase the potential of the armies of the two states”.
The agreements were signed during the state visit to Uzbekistan of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and are aimed at developing bilateral cooperation in the military, military-technical, military-educational, as well as other areas that are within the sphere of interests of the parties.
According to the senators, the adoption of the agreements will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral ties and serve to strengthen regional security. The Bill have been passed by the senators.
