Microsoft Corporation will open a multi-regional hub in Kazakhstan for Central Asia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia and Pakistan, Orda with reference to the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan said.

“The move will allow Kazakhstan to become a center of technologies and advanced solutions on a regional scale. Thus, being the center of technological development and innovation of Microsoft, the hub will be able to become a driver for the development of human capital and strengthening the national economy by stimulating the production and export of products from non-commodity technology industries,” Bagdat Musin said during a meeting with Microsoft CEO for Kazakhstan Sergey Leshchenko.

While, Leshchenko noted that Kazakhstan had all the necessary infrastructure for the operation of the hub.

Orda added that in September 2022, as part of a visit to the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Microsoft CEO for Central and Eastern Europe Michel Simmons. Then the parties discussed issues of further cooperation, in particular, the expansion of the Kazakhstan office to a regional hub.
