Case of the former chief of Khorezm provincial department of justice and the former head of the provincial department for emergency situations will be considered in Tashkent city.
According to the press service of the Supreme Court, in line with the relevant laws, the case was submitted for consideration to the Tashkent City Criminal Court.
This provisions state that for a more complete, objective and timely consideration of a criminal case, it can be transferred from one court to another by decision of the chairman of the higher court authority. The case transferring shall be decided by the chairman of the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court clarified that in Tashkent the case will be considered in a closed court session.
In September 2022, the court of first instance found them guilty. In December 2022, the court of appeal upheld the verdict.
On April 3, the press service of the Supreme Court reported that the court received a cassation protest from Khorezm provincial prosecutor's office to cancel part of the decision in the case of A. Masharipov and A. Kuryazov and send their case for a new consideration to the court of appeal.
Later, on April 6, it became known that the Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court at a closed meeting considered the protest of the Khorezm Provincial Prosecutor's Office to cancel the decision of the Appellate Instance of the Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Khorezm Provincial Court dated December 27, 2022 in relation to A. Masharipov and A. Kuryazov, as well as sending the case to the court of appeal for a new trial.
Recall that in the Khorezm province, the director of a family orphanage selected three girls in her care and used them for sexual intercourse with men for 10 months. Among the "clients" were a 44-year-old former head of the Khorezm provincial department of justice and a 39-year-old head of the district emergency department.
